Day of Exploring Nature at Veggielution

Event: A Day at Veggielution

Date: March 21, 2026

Location: Veggielution, San Jose, CA

Population Served: Foster youth ages 2 – 12

Event Highlights:

On Saturday, March 21, Child Advocates of Silicon Valley teamed up with Veggielution to host a vibrant day of outdoor exploration for foster youth and their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers. A total of 13 youth and CASAs participated in the experience, spending the day immersed in nature under sunny skies, sampling fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the garden, getting creative with hands-on art, and slowing down with mindful gardening activities.

As guests arrived, they were welcomed into the lush garden space and guided through a variety of interactive stations. Laughter and curiosity filled the air as they dug into the worm station, built mud castles, and embraced the freedom to play, explore and connect. In addition to hands-on activities, attendees gathered together for a special storytime.

Designed to nurture both connection and well-being, the day encouraged youth to build positive relationships with their CASAs and peers and to engage in activities that promote mindfulness and confidence. Each moment offered an opportunity to create joyful, lasting memories grounded in support and care.

We’re grateful to Veggielution and their dedicated team of staff and volunteers for making this experience possible. Through partnerships like this, we continue to create meaningful opportunities that help our youth grow, connect, and thrive.

“ [I wanted to come today to] spend time with my CASA, I also liked the crafts, games, food and sports.” – foster youth
