Event: Summer Bash

Event Highlights:
On Saturday, June 27th, our foster youth and their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers gathered for a lovely afternoon of outdoor activities at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy, California. This event was specifically organized to meet the needs of our South County foster youth, providing them with expressive arts and physical movement activities.
As participants arrived, they were welcomed at various stations where our youth had engaged in activities such as T-Shirt/Tote Bag Spray Painting, bracelet making, creating their own paracord keychains, and much more. It is thanks to the help from LGBTQ+ Youth Space, Local Color San Jose and Allera Sports that we were able to provide these activities.
In addition, our attendees enjoyed a delectable lunch featuring pulled pork sandwiches, salad, fruit-infused water, grilled chicken, and mac and cheese, thanks to our amazing vendor, Aztlan Smoked Out BBQ.
After lunch, the attendees headed to the park’s field to enjoy our various lawn activities, Connect 4, Jenga, and our fun water activity brought to us by Allera Sports.
To wrap up the event, we had goodie bags for our youth to take home, filled with things like fidget toys, stress balls, and a thoughtful card as a reminder of the memorable day that they spent at the 5th Annual Summer Bash.
Our Summer Bash was filled with elements of competition, laughter, and fun, offering a space where our youth had the opportunity to bond with their peers and CASA Volunteers. Events like this provide our youth with positive childhood experiences by exposing them to nature, fostering community connections and engaging them in physical activities.
But this event of course, wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing stuff, CASA Volunteers, our supportive community partners: Allera Sports, Local Color San Jose and the LGBTQ+ Youth Space, as well as our vendor, Aztlan Smoked out BBQ.
