Event: KIDSTRAVAGANZA
Date: May 02, 2026
Location: Child Advocates of Silicon Valley
Population Served: Foster youth ages 3+
Event Highlights:
On Saturday, May 5, over 45 foster youth and their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers spent the day creating fun memories at our 5th Annual KIDSTRAVAGANZA! As attendees arrived to our main office, they were welcomed into our carnival-inspired atmosphere filled with excitement, friendly competition and a variety of engaging indoor and outdoor activities.
With more than a dozen interactive stations, foster youth and their CASAs spent the day moving, creating, laughing and learning, with each activity intentionally designed to support a Positive Childhood Experience (PCE). Indoor activities encouraged both mindfulness and creativity, including a hands-on art station where youth explored crafts, coloring and creative expression brought by Local Color. Therapy dogs from Canine Companions provided comfort and calming moments throughout the day.
Outdoors, the excitement continued with physical activity hosted by Allera Sports and carnival competitions managed by Santa Clara University Future Child Advocates Sorority. From lawn games to face painting, every station supported movement, laughter and connection. We also had Dottie the Clown providing our youth with balloon animals, face painting and a magic show!
Lunch brought a special twist as youth created their own charcuterie snack cups, using cookie cutters to shape cheese stars and adding fruits and veggies to personalize their treats. This hands-on activity offered a fun and creative way to explore healthy nutrition. Attendees also enjoyed sandwiches and salads.
To close out the event, Red Ladder Theatre Company inspired imagination through an engaging reader’s theater and storytelling experience that brought creativity to life. Throughout each activity, the event intentionally incorporated Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs), including physical activity, mindfulness, nutrition, mental health support and supportive relationships, helping create joyful memories that will last far beyond the weekend. CASAs also played a meaningful role by guiding youth through each station, offering encouragement and sharing one-on-one moments along the way. These interactions helped strengthen trust, support emotional well-being and remind youth that they have someone by their side.
The 5th Annual KIDSTRAVAGANZA was made possible thanks to our incredible staff, devoted CASA Volunteers, generous vendors, and especially our community partners who SHOWED UP for our foster youth: Red Ladder Theater Company, Local Color, Allera Sports, Canine Companions, and the Santa Clara University Future Child Advocates Sorority. Thank you all for making this day magical for our youth.
