Event Highlights:
On Friday, August 22, 2025, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) gathered at Excite Ballpark for a night of baseball, cheering and laughter. The purpose of this event was not only to celebrate CASA Volunteers but to spread awareness about our mission to SHOW UP for each foster youth. As CASAs joined us for an evening of competition, they brought with them a friend, family member or colleague who they believe would be great CASA Volunteers.
Volunteers and their guests joined us at 6:00 p.m. with the first pitch kicking off at 7:00 p.m. The game’s atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations in a low-pressure and relaxed environment. Throughout the game, you could hear conversations between CASA Volunteers and their invitees, where CASAs shared their personal stories and highlighted the profound impact a consistent, trusted role model can have on the life of a foster child.
The need for more advocates to SHOW UP for foster youth was at the heart of the evening. With more than 100 kids in our waitlist, it is imperative that we recruit more volunteers and spread the word about how to support our foster youth. These numbers show the importance of recruiting more community members so that each youth has someone they can count on.
During the 7th inning, our CASA Volunteers were celebrated with a message on the park’s jumbotron, thanking CASAs for SHOWING UP for our foster youth. These moments support our CASA Volunteers by creating camaraderie between them as they continue supporting our youth.
Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is grateful to every CASA who attended and shared their stories on how they support foster youth in Santa Clara County. Nights like these prove that a simple evening of baseball and conversation can spark life-changing connections.
