From August 1, 2023 to September 30, 2023, Shell station customers throughout California filled up for a good cause when they chose a purple “Giving Pump.” For every gallon of fuel sold, participating locations donated one cent to select children’s charities, including 13 California Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Programs this year.
CASA’s involvement was made possible by Child Advocates Board Member Vik Ghai, who worked diligently to secure this opportunity in partnership with Loop Neighborhood CEO Varish Goyal. The 2023 campaign raised $50,000 for CASA Programs statewide, which will be divided amongst the 13 beneficiaries, including Child Advocates of Silicon Valley. Of the 159 participating California Shell stations, 38 sites were located in Santa Clara County alone, resulting in a $13,000 donation for Child Advocates’ CASA Program.
