Event Highlights:
On Sunday, August 6, 2023, over 15 Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers & Mentors gathered at Topgolf San Jose for a special appreciation event. CASAs enjoyed free golf play, a savory lunch and a chance to participate in a raffle with exciting prizes. They also had the opportunity to connect with one another, strengthening their sense of community, while Child Advocates honored their dedication to supporting Santa Clara County foster youth.
“Gratitude is an attitude and our CASAs show us the great stuff they do with our kids everyday—it’s great to be able to say ‘thank you’ to them in a significant way. I’m hoping they have fun at the event and understand how much we appreciate everything they do for our youth,” expressed Child Advocates CEO Frederick J. Ferrer.
Reflecting on his advocacy journey, CASA Volunteer Blake shared, “Being a CASA has been really fun. I’ve been here for eight years now, and I’ve seen things change and get better. Originally I did this to volunteer, but it slowly, for the better, took over a large part of my life. I never expected it to be like this. I initially heard the ad for Child Advocates over the radio and thought that would be something great to do, and now I’ve made a lot of connections with other CASAs and it’s been really fun”.
