LGBTQ+ youth and their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers joined our team for our inclusive event, LGBTQ+ Bowling Party. The social took place at Bowlmor Lanes in Cupertino on Sunday, June 26, 2022.
Attendees enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon making new friends on the lanes. During the celebration, the youth and their CASAs played multiple rounds of bowling. After a few strikes and gutterballs, our bowlers enjoyed lunch at the lounge where everyone gathered to socialize. The day concluded with another round of bowling.
When foster youth experience trauma, there is an even greater need for supportive relationships. Social events in a safe space, like our LGBTQ+ Bowling Party, create a supportive environment to build relationships which is imperative when creating positive outcomes for our youth. By the end of the event, our LGBTQ+ youth build social connections and allies to support healthy, positive and loving identities.
