Child Advocate of Silicon Valley Announces The Appointment of a New Board Member

MILPITAS, CA — Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is pleased to announce the appointment of new board member, Stephanie Peng, CFO of Transcarent, effective February 2, 2022. 

“Stephanie is a wonderful addition to our board. Her deep knowledge in finance with a successful track record of improving financial operational efficiency will be a tremendous asset to our agency.” said Frederick J. Ferrer, CEO of Child Advocates. “As a passionate child welfare advocate, Stephanie will support our work to ensure our foster youth have access to resources they need.”

Peng’s proven business leadership will assist with planning the agency’s strategic direction. Her financial experience will help Child Advocates develop innovative strategies to increase fundraising efforts and build sustainable funding to support ongoing operations and the recruitment of CASA Volunteers.  

Child Advocates has a diverse, active board that represents a range of professional expertise in technology, child welfare, law, business planning, accounting and fundraising. It is the board’s responsibility to provide counsel and oversight in the direction and operation of Child Advocates as well as raise awareness of our CASA Program to help recruit potential volunteers and donors. 

About Stephanie Peng

Stephanie Peng is CFO for Transcarent, a health and care experience company for employees of self-insured employers and their families. Peng is a proven business leader and finance executive with more than two decades of experience leading and scaling category winners in the digital health and technology industries. Prior to joining Transcarent, Peng served as the CFO for U.S. at Teladoc Health, where she was the financial strategist and steward for four businesses with a combined $2 billion in annual revenues. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Finance at Livongo Health, where she played a key leadership role in the largest consumer digital health IPO in history, a secondary offering, a convertible debt offering raising over $550 million, and Livongo’s $18.5 billion merger with Teladoc Health. She was also CFO at Vida Health, where she led a venture capital round to scale the company’s platform, and Chief Accounting Officer and Treasurer at Upwork, where she led a transformational merger and prepared the company for its IPO.

We serve children aged birth to 21 years old who are placed in the Santa Clara County Dependency Court System for having experienced trauma in the form of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. We are responsible for operating the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program in Santa Clara County, which entails recruiting, training and supporting CASA Volunteers according to the National CASA Association standards.
