Pumpkin Patch Recap

Over 30 children and youth, some dressed in their festive costumes, along with their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers joined us to celebrate the Halloween season during the Child Advocates of Silicon Valley’s Pumpkin Patch. The spook-tacular event took place at our Milpitas office parking lot on Saturday, October 23, 2021

With kid-friendly music playing and bubbles blowing in the background, our children enjoyed a fun-filled morning of various activities, including pumpkin decorating, After selecting their favorite pumpkin from the haystack, each child and their CASA Volunteer were placed at a COVID-safe decorating station. Each pumpkin decorating station was stocked with a goodie bag filled with paint, brushes, markers and other items to encourage a colorful explosion of creativity. After creating their jack-o-lanterns, our youth participated in other interactive activities such as shooting hoops, ring toss, and cornhole.

During the event, our children and their CASAs visited our Store, a dedicated room, located at the Child Advocates of Silicon Valley’s main office, filled with new items for our youth. These include new clothes, shoes, school supplies, backpacks, indoor and outdoor activity supplies and equipment, skateboards and helmets, games, puzzles, toys, dolls, blankets, make-up, toiletries, wallets, purses, — all free for our children.

The event concluded with snacks and youth playing with their new toys. Followed by taking a complimentary Polaroid at our photo station to capture the day for our CASA Volunteers to keep.

This event was made possible by the generosity of Skylake Tree Services and Sam’s Downtown Feed for donating pumpkins and bales of hay for the event. As well as our student interns from San Jose State University for supporting the event.
