MILPITAS, CA — Child Advocates of Silicon Valley is pleased to announce the appointment of new board member, Leslie Rodriguez, Partner at California Strategies, LLC.

“We are pleased to welcome Leslie as a new board member. She brings extensive work experience in public policy, is grounded in the Silicon Valley community and has a real understanding of the children we serve,” said Frederick J. Ferrer, CEO of Child Advocates.

Having deep experience in policy that reaches high into a governor’s administration, Rodriguez provides unsurpassed strategic counsel and implements key strategies designed to provide clients the best way forward as they look to navigate proposed and current regulations laid out by elected leaders and state agencies.

“I am so delighted to be joining the Board of Directors because all kids, especially those in foster care, urgently need a caring adult who can look out for them. Child Advocates makes kids the center of their mission,” said Rodriguez. “I look forward to supporting the work of Child Advocates as they care for individual children and seek to make lasting systemic change to better care for kids and their families.”

Child Advocates has a diverse, active board that represents a range of professional expertise in technology, child welfare, law, business planning, accounting and fundraising. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide counsel and oversight in the direction and operation of Child Advocates as well as raise awareness of our CASA program to help recruit potential volunteers and donors.
