Child Advocates’ online auction and Fund-A-Need raised more than $200,000 to benefit our foster children whom are sheltering-in-place during the COVID-19. The online auction and fundraiser was created as an alternative solution for canceling our annual Gala (a $325,000 loss) due to the pandemic. Participants had the opportunity to bid for relaxing getaways, private wine tours plus tastings and more and/or donate to our Fund-A-Need to enter our virtual drawing.
Funds generated from this event will directly support the following challenges the COVID-19 and sheltering-in-place has brought to our foster kids:
- Ensure our 600 foster kids receive the unexpected, essential resources they now need: food, clothes, school supplies, computers, WiFi access (a $106,880 unforeseen cost)
- Support over 500 CASA volunteers to advocate remotely while adapting to a virtual Court process
This event was made possible by the generosity of our sponsors – Excite Credit Union, Kaiser Permanente Financial Ops, Quest Foundation Morgan, Lewis & Bochius LLP, Nancy Handel, Health Trust and Keith Gardner –and all the generous participants.
Thank you for your support during this pandemic.
