Creating Joyful Experiences for Foster Youth at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo

Through our continued partnership with Happy Hollow Foundation, foster youth and their Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers are able to enjoy special days at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo throughout the year.

During these outings, youth explore the park’s exciting rides, play outdoors, and discover animals from around the world at the zoo. More importantly, these visits create opportunities for positive childhood experiences (PCEs), which research shows help youth heal from trauma and build resilience. These PCEs include building supportive relationships, engaging in physical activity, practicing mindfulness, accessing nature, and enjoying nutritious meals.
